Dima Pantyushin was born in Moscow in 1978.
After leaving school before graduating, he worked as a courier before serving in the Russian Armed Forces from 1996 to 1998. It was during his military service that he decided to devote himself to drawing and design.
In 1998, he enrolled in a three-year programme in graphic and decorative design at the Moscow Printing Factory of Goznak (MPFG), part of Russia’s state security printing company. This was a period of rapid digital transformation in graphic design, so his education combined traditional hand-drawn techniques with the emerging field of computer graphics. After graduating, he worked at the factory and was later transferred to Goznak’s Head Office, where he became Deputy Chief Artist in the Security Technologies Department of the Goznak Research Institute.
In 2008, Pantyushin co-founded and launched his first independent project, Clevermoto, while continuing to work as a freelance designer. During the same period, he collaborated for seven years with the landmark Moscow club Solyanka, creating graphic design, visual identity and event concepts for numerous cultural and music projects.
In 2013, together with friends, he co-founded the Motocafé Enthusiast, where his posters became the project’s primary visual language and one of its defining features.
Over the following two years, he collaborated with the Strelka Institute, creating posters, stage environments and visual concepts for concerts and cultural events.
During the same period, he worked for several years with the fashion label Nina Donis, contributing to catalogue design. His posters also became the visual mood board for one of the brand’s collections.
In 2016, he self-published the book Dima Pantyushin. Posters for Motocafé Enthusiast / 2013–2016.
To mark its publication, Pantyushin and his friend Sasha Lipsky recorded a humorous song titled Book. They later recorded two more tracks, attracting the attention of Beats in Space, the independent New York label founded by Tim Sweeney, and leading to the release of Peshekhod (Pedestrian), a full-length vinyl album featuring 14 tracks, in 2021.
In 2020, together with friends and partners, Pantyushin co-founded two more venues in Moscow: the bistro Toto and the Billiard House Krugly Shar (The Round Ball). For both projects, he developed the visual identity and worked with his partners on furniture and interior design.
Over the years, he has also created merchandise for all of these projects.
In 2023, after being awarded a Global Talent Visa, he relocated to London.
Since 2024, he has created monthly thematic music collages for the London-based radio station ROVR under the title Peshekhod by Dima Pantyushin. Each broadcast is accompanied by a newly created original poster.
His solo exhibitions have been presented in Stockholm, Belgrade and London. His most recent exhibition took place in London in the spring of 2026 and featured eleven hand-painted graphic posters.
Along the way, he also created cover artwork for Apple Music in 2019 and for Forbes España in 2022. His work appeared in the British publisher Counter-Print’s From Eastern Europe (2018).
Today, he works primarily on paper using acrylic paint, archival Japanese fineliners and oil pencils, combining traditional artistic materials with the graphic sensibility developed through years of design practice.
